Helicoid Conveyor Flighting & Screws

Helicoid Conveyor Screws are precision cold-rolled from a specific grade of steel alloy into a continuous smooth finished and hardened helix. Our selection of helicoid lighting utilizes proven manufacturing processes and superb material selection to ensure a long and effective working life. Morse specifically, the design of helicoid conveyor screws is a very cost-effective solution for bulk material handling.
These conveyor screws are designated by a few key factors:
  • Helicoid Screw Diameter
  • Screw Conveyor Configuration / Type
  • Right or Left Hand Configuration
  • Pitch
  • Thickness
Helicoid conveyor screws are manufactured by intermittently welding helicoid flighting onto a center pipe, internal collars are placed on each end and welded to accommodate the shafts. Additionally, screws are structurally reinforced at the ends by end lugs. We can supply a continuous welding configuration to where the weld is on the carrying side or for both sides upon request. Additional options include; stainless steel helicoid conveyor screws and non-metallic helicoid conveyor screws.

When it comes to selecting the right screw for a new screw conveyor system we recommend that you review our screw conveyor engineering data page to ensure proper sizing and output needs. The screws are available as either right-hand or left-hand screws, right-hand screws will be supplied if left is not specified. When possible, it's best to use the standard length of the screw per the diameter required. The carrying side of the flights that do the actual conveying are free of lugs to ensure no material drag or hanging, the back end (also referred to as the non-carrying end) is reinforced at the ends to guard against the flight folding back. Refer to the drawings below for a better understanding of right and left-hand configurations.
