#35-100 Roller Chain Wear Gauge - Made In USA Description/Features

Proudly Made In The USA

The #35-100 Roller Chain Wear Gauge is manufactured to extremely high precision tolerances and is designed for quickly checking wear on ANSI roller chains ranging from #35 through #100. This compact gauge is an essential maintenance tool for maintenance technicians, plant managers, and reliability teams looking to maximize chain life and prevent unexpected downtime.

Unlike complicated measuring methods that require calipers or chain measurements, this wear gauge provides an instant visual indication of chain elongation. Its lightweight, pocket-sized design makes it easy to carry throughout your facility while performing routine inspections.

Compatible Chain Sizes:

Why Use a Roller Chain Wear Gauge?

  • Quick and accurate chain wear inspections
  • No calipers or measuring tools required
  • Helps prevent unexpected chain failures
  • Protects sprockets from excessive wear
  • Compact and easy to carry throughout your facility
  • Made in the USA from high-quality materials

How To Use The #35-100 Roller Chain Wear Gauge

#35-#100 Roller Chain Wear Gauge
Step 1: Verify the chain size falls within the #35 through #100 range.
Step 2: Place the wear gauge between the chain rollers and allow it to settle naturally.
Step 3: If the gauge drops completely through and reaches the next size indication, the chain has exceeded acceptable wear limits and should be replaced.

Additional Signs Your Roller Chain May Need Replacement

A roller chain wear gauge is one of the easiest ways to check for chain elongation (stretch), but there are also other visual wear indicators that you should be looking out for during routine maintenance inspections.

Side Plate Wear

When roller chain runs against a track, guide, or abrasive surface, the side plates can wear down over time. If side plate wear exceeds approximately 5% of the original plate height, replacement should be scheduled as soon as possible.

Cracked Plates

Cracked plates can occur from shock loading, overloading, or harsh operating conditions. If cracking is present, the chain should be replaced immediately and the application should be reviewed to confirm the chain is properly sized.

Elongated Holes

Elongated pin holes are often caused by high overloading or excessive wear. This condition can weaken the chain and may indicate that a larger chain size or different chain type is needed for the application.
