Roller Bearings
Roller bearings use a cylindrical roller as opposed to a ball. The roller bearing design inherently provides increased dispersion of the load on the bearing, which results in a high-load capacity. High-load roller bearings also often have the advantage of being self-aligning, which reduces maintenance, repair and labor costs. Low friction and high precision result in a high-speed roller bearing performance.
Several types of roller bearings are available, including tapered, needle, spherical, cylindrical, split spherical, CARB toroidal and thrust roller bearings. These types of roller bearings have various advantages, such as the ability to provide high rotation, support high axial and radial loads, withstand high rotational speeds or support high-temperature roller bearing applications. Most roller bearing products can withstand a degree of misalignment or displacement and have a low profile, which is ideal for applications in which there is not a lot of room around the bearing. When using sealed bearings, the need for maintenance and repair is less.
