This chain guide is a mounted style meaning that it uses a steel mounting channel, specifically the Type-CT #140 chain guide uses a C9 profile. We keep C9 profile mounting channels in stock in galvanized, non galvanized, and stainless steel materials. Using a roller chain guide is common in most conveying applications where you don't want metal-on-metal contact for wear purposes. Not only does using a chain guide drastically increase the wear life of a roller chain, but it also reduces on noise levels in applications that have metal-on-metal contact. Black Repro UHMW is for low demanding applications and is the lower cost material available for chain guides, it has an overall lower property level than virgin UHMW-PE.
Oil-Filled UHMW is best for high-speed applications and will poses an extended chain life as well.
Green Repro UHMW matches DIN 2768 European guidelines. This UHMW shares the same characteristics as the black repro material.
Static Dissipative UHMW is a high quality conductive material.
HT UHMW is a high performance material for high temperature applications, it can operate in temperatures up to 275°F.
