Spherical Roller Bearings
A spherical roller bearing is designed for some of the harshest environments. Depending on the cage design and if the bearing is sealed, spherical roller bearings present an optimized geometry that provides the highest load and speed ratings, with speeds over 1500 rotations per minute. A sealed spherical roller bearing provides superior service life, reduces grease consumption and improves the overall cost of maintaining the bearing.
A sealed spherical bearing can run at a broader temperature range and is built to withstand misalignment and contamination. Sealed spherical roller bearings are built with two rows of roller bearings, with a solid inner raceway and a separated outer raceway. Their ability to take heavy radial and axial loads while withstanding shaft deflections is due to their unique design. Ranging in total diameter from approximately 2 inches to about 86 inches, these bearings are used in renewable energy, material handling, industrial transmission, mining, mineral processing and cement industries.
