Needle Roller Bearings
A needle roller bearing is a bearing that has a longer axis with respect to its diameter. Made specifically to aid in preventing stress on rollers, needle roller bearings tend to be the lightest and smallest within the roller bearing family. Due to their small size and the larger number of rollers, these bearings tend to be more robust, can carry a greater load and have a low profile, which lends to their utility in applications in which there is minimal radial space.
A caged needle roller bearing works well in applications where its mounting position can be used as the outer and inner raceways and the bearing is simply held together by the shaft and the bearing housing. Linear flat needle roller bearings provide a flat surface that can be used to provide linear motion to an object. Split cage needle roller bearings offer superior cage alignment and ease of installation without direct access to the shaft ends.
