The inclusion of thicker "heavy-duty" side plates on 240H heavy chain improves the roller chains' capabilities in strength, shock load absorption, and wear life. Our selection of 240H heavy roller chain includes riveted or cottered construction and General Duty Plus or Premium qualities. Something important to note when switching from a standard 240 roller chain to a 240H roller chain is that the overall width of the chain is larger due to the thicker side plates, 0.52" to be exact. It is imperative to ensure additional clearance in the existing application when making the switch!
